Chamfer process purpose is to get even and smooth ends edge for better usage, in this stage the length will be processed more precisely.
Chamfering refers to cutting the edges and corners of the pipes or workpiece into a certain slope. Chamfering is to remove the burr caused by machining on parts, and to facilitate the assembly of parts, chamfering is generally made at the end of parts.
Generally, the function of chamfering is to remove burr and make it beautiful. However, the chamfering specified in the drawing is generally required by the installation process, such as the installation guide of bearings, and some arc chamfering (or called arc transition) can also reduce the stress concentration and strengthen the strength of shaft parts. In addition, it can also make assembly easy, usually before the end of processing. In agricultural machinery parts, especially the end faces of round fittings and round holes, the chamfering angle of about 45 degree is often processed. These chamfering has many functions. 11.Will the length for pipe rings get changed during chamferring ?
Chamferring process will do even more deep machining for pipes rings, we usually do leveling the ends and chamfer at same time, in which way the chamfer will be more standard on a even more flat face. So the length will get slightly shorter during chamferring by about 0.01~0.02mm.
22.Can you do sand blasting after chamferring?
We can do the sand blasting process after chamferring according client request. Sand blasting can increase the adhesion property of pipe surface, like for better oil painting and injecting glue process.
33.What is the thickest WT your company can do chamferring?
For the moment we can do chamferring for pipes with thickness not above 20mm. And the biggest OD is not above 127mm.
